Biscuit Love Brunch Named in Bon Appétit's 50 Best New Restaurants

Biscuit Love Brunch, Karl and Sarah Worley's biscuit-centric restaurant in the Gulch has been named one of the 50 best new restaurants in the country according to Bon Appétit magazine. The list was compiled by restaurant and drinks editor Andrew Knowlton and associate restaurant editor Julia Kramer after they "criss-crossed the country seeking out the truly original, innovative and unexpected cooking taking place right now." Biscuit Love's fried chicken biscuit, The East Nasty and the deep-fried "bonuts" won over the editors. Also mentioned were John's Ham Bar, which is a selection of country ham, biscuit French toast and the burger topped with pimento cheese.

Biscuit Love Brunch and the other restaurants are the nominees for Bon Appétit's Hot 10, which will be announced on Aug. 18.

One other Tennessee restaurant, Porcellino's in Memphis, made the list. It's the newest venture from Andrew Ticer and Michael Hudman of Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen and Hog and Hominy. Nashville favorites Rolf and Daughters and The Catbird Seat were previously nominated as Best New Restaurant, with Rolf and Daughters eventually being named No. 3 in 2013 and The Catbird Seat No. 5 in 2012. Let's hope Nashville's latest nominee continues the Hot 10 tradition.
