Where can you find Johnny Castle, James Dalton and Bodhi from Point Break? The answer is “my dreams,” but also on St. Patrick Swayze Day at The Centennial bar in West Nashville. Held annually on the day of His birth (Aug. 18), it includes Swayze cosplay, a “Nobody puts Baby in a corner” baby-doll-throwing contest, and a slate of specially brewed beers, my favorite of which is East Nashville Brewing Company’s “I Am an IPA Agent!” With all the testosterone and booze, you’re apt to overdo it, and that’s OK. In the immortal words of Bodhi: “It’s not tragic to die doing what you love.” ASHLEY BRANTLEY
